Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

We collect the information you provide when you create an account and complete the questionnaire — including your name, contact details, family and beneficiary information, assets and debts, and healthcare-related wishes. We treat all questionnaire answers as sensitive personal information.

2. How we use it

We use your information to generate your documents and save your progress. Where you are signed in to both I'M DEAD products, relevant details can be shared with the I'M DEAD mobile app so you don't have to enter the same thing twice.

3. Storage & processors

Your information is stored using Firebase (Google Cloud) infrastructure. This section states the actual storage region and processors once that placement is finalized.

4. Security measures

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls that limit who can read your data.

5. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers who help us run the Service (such as our hosting and database provider) and when required by law.

6. Analytics & error monitoring

We use Google Analytics to understand how people move through the will builder — which steps take longest, where people get stuck — but only after you accept on the banner shown when you first visit. Nothing you enter into your documents is ever included. Separately, we run always-on error and diagnostic monitoring so we can detect and fix problems with the Service — this runs at all times, as an operational necessity, is first-party to our own Google Cloud project (never shared with a third-party monitoring vendor), and is scrubbed to exclude document content as a safeguard, not a guarantee. If you reach this page from the I'M DEAD mobile app, usage analytics also run inside the app's in-app browser, under the mobile app's own store-level disclosure — no separate prompt is shown there. You can change your analytics choice below at any time, just as easily as you gave it.

7. Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your information from your account settings, or by contacting us directly. This includes the right to permanently delete your account yourself, at any time, from the account settings page — see "Deleting your account" below for what that removes.

8. Deleting your account

From your account settings, you can permanently delete your data. This action is final and cannot be undone. You choose what to delete: just your estate documents (the will, power of attorney, and assets & debts information you created in this product), or your entire I'M DEAD account. Deleting your entire I'M DEAD account removes your account and all associated information — including your sign-in and the documents you created — across the I'M DEAD products, and afterward you will not be able to sign back in with the same email or credentials.

9. Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, or ask us to delete your data, the associated information is permanently removed and is not retained.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and, for material changes, notify you directly.
